Zenith Model 462

The Zenith Model 462 receiver.

This auto set employs 6 tubes, utilizes a superheterodyne circuit and is simple to install. Provision is made in the design of the set, for rear mounting (under the bulkhead) so that the speaker faces the occupants of the car, or for side mounting (most convenient in some cars) so that the speaker faces across the car. Three holes, 1/2-in. in dia., are necessary for installing the receiver which includes, in one unit, receiver chassis, speaker and "B" power supply.
A tone control is included in the set, the adjustment of which not only will correct the depth or pitch of reception to that desired by the user, but will also serve to modify all ignition noise interference which may tend to "leak" through.
