Hi all,I just got one of these -sold as a novelty "toy".
It appears to be a crystal set,maybe?
Did it use a high impedance earphone?

Might be crystal, but if you want to use it you'll be dragging wires around off your wrist

Hi Jim,not that one,not the walkie talkie kind.
This one looks like a small radio,I haven't been able to find anything on Google about it.Here's a pic;

I just had to know....So I took it apart,crystal detector fed to a really small pin drive speaker,about 1 inch,connections on top for antenna and ground.
Couldn't have been very practical-I can just see a kid wandering around in the mid '40's wearing one of these things and lugging a loop antenna with him! :)
Still cool though,Phil

I had a set of these wrist radios in the original box. I paid $40 at an auction for it and I spilled a pop on the box before I even got it home. I sold them on ebay a few months after I bought them. I wish I still had them because they are pretty cool. If you watch ebay you might be able to get another one to make a set. There is a set with box selling right now for only $30. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1950s-REMCO-DIC ... 1e666e034a

I remember back in the early '70's in college at OSU, Cols OH 43210 one of our favorite sayings was "No S***, Dick Tracy !"....a sign of the times apparently...the F word wasn't yet in vogue, at least in the Midwest. I don't hear today's college students saying that anymore.

When I was in school a few centuries ago, the expression was, "no sh*t , Sherlock", lol.

I saw one of those and almost bought it myself. I have the 1990's VHS movie in mint condition and the trading cards. It would have been cool to put with the collection. I still might have to get one. Kris

I still can't get over the fact that the seller offered it as a second chance offer...I was outbid and he had a reserve on it and no one else did any bidding. Then came the second chance buy it now offer and I sure did not waste any time in buying it!! The deal of the year for me!!
I also have the other wrist radio:
