I am new to radio collecting and I would like to know if I have made a crazy purchase. I just bought a Brunswick Model 5 NO with speaker and table. It appears to be in good condition with all knobs, tubes and good speaker. I paid $180 for this radio. My largest purchase so far. The cabinet needs refinishing and new grill clothe and the tuner needs to be freed up. Can anyone tell me If I made an OK purchase or not? I can not find anything like it on Ebay or any other internet site.
Thanks, Radio Junkie

In my opinion and having no photo to look at, I would say you seriously overpaid. The stuck tuner may be due to warped pot metal. Not good. I could be wrong, have been before. The model number is not familiar to me.

It has on a sticker Model 5 NO. It is in a very ornate walnut cabinet with walnut speaker and table that also says brunswick.

I found the schematic on Nostalgia Air of the location of the adjusting condensers. Trying to find better schematics of the entire chassis.

The Brunswick is just a rebadged Radiola 60, but the former has a much finer cabinet and is valued a bit higher.
