I have just acquired a type P chassis, it is bare and has no enclosure or loudspeaker, apart from that it seems all complete.
I need some advice about the speaker, it was a field coil type with the energising winding forming a circuit to ground from the centre tap of the power transformer. The speaker frame also mounted the output transformer which is a push-pull pair of 45 type tubes.
To get it going, after its refurbishment, I need an audio output transformer, a choke and a speaker. Before I rush out and purchase, possibly the wrong ones, I would like some advice on replacements.
Thanks
Mike

If the OP is new to the hobby, fixing it up would provide good experience, despite the lack of a cabinet.

Just advertise for whatever original speaker that's supposed to go with that chassis. Spare AK speakers shouldn't be to hard to acquire.

Thanks for the advice, I have been interested in tube radio for many years but have not done a TRF set so it would be interesting.
The lack of a cabinet is a set back but things come along sometimes. I will advertise for a speaker.

Mike, The "P" chassis is one of the model 70 series chassis. The P is different from the more common "L" chassis in that it had the inputs for the phonograph. This chassis was used in the model 75. The 70 series (models 70,72,74,75,76) used type L,F,D,Q,P or H chassis. Model 70 used L,F,D or Q Model 74 used L,F or D Model 75 used P Model 76 used L,F,D or Q Model 72 used H
Chassis L,F,P and H used a type N speaker D chassis used a type F6 speaker Q chassis used a type J speaker
The short answer is that your chassis is for a model 75 cabinet ( the one with a phonograph in the lid), but will fit any of the 70 series cabinets). The speaker you need is a type N
