1000 ohms sounds about right. These pickups vary from one to another, but at least it is not open.
I'm not the best at rebuilding them, but I used some soft rubber wire insulation for the pivots and used a blob of RTV silicone dried and cut to shape with a razor blade to make the dampening block.
