Received this set at yard sale. It works well but could use an alignment because stations do not fall correctly on the dial.
Can anyone supply or suggest obtaining a schematic? It has a solar collector that can charge and power the radio simultaneously.
I have yet to test the solar function. This 5 LB solid state Gem features bands AM, FM, SW1 and SW2 to 18Mhz. cheers, john85

Good luck finding such info on a recent solid state radio. Make sure it's not a mechanical problem with the dial before you start fiddling with the adjustments. If it is previously unmolested and not a mechanical problem - there would likely be a failed or failing component causing the problem - and that would have to be addressed for a permanent cure. If it is an alignment issue - you can find some general hints here:

Be mindful of the spring - uncontrolled release could injure you and/or ruin the radio.

Those, I believe, were also known under the name "Freeplay" and, at one time, had some association with Coleman (the lantern people) in the US. Maybe you could get some info from Coleman. I have one that is AM/FM - yours was intended for the isolated regions of the world (ie., Africa) - though some of the SW versions made it to the US market. I remember seeing a few of that model at the discounter "Tuesday Morning" many years ago....... More info:.....

Do not open this radio. I have done it once and the spring exploded and gave me a terrible cut on the hand. It could have been an eye.

I bought one from the GW and it had a spring issue. The end where it connects broke, but I repaired it.
Yes, be VERY careful if you open the generator/spring assembly.
The circuitboard is really small, and I doubt there is any schematic info available.
