Theres a very nice RCA 28T at the local antique store for sale. Looks to be all original and has a fabulous original finish. He is asking $150. I was thinking thats a little high but an expert I am not. What do you guys think?

I agree, I had a decent one in working condition a couple of years ago and it was very difficult to sell for $45, had to drag it around to several radio shows to find anyone interested in it because it is such a common radio.

For an unrestored one, the value would seem to be about $50 or less based upon being local to you and not having to pay for shipping.

If you believe in book prices, CGAR volume 6 says $50 to $65 and in most cases you would want to buy for less than that. The antique store is totally out of touch with reality to ask $150 unless they intend to be very negotiable on that price.

The 28T is a really good radio but that doesn't do much for its pricing. I 'loaned' mine to a friend in California and he didn't want to send it back. Didn't want to buy it either but that's what friends are about, I guess :)

EDIT - found my glasses.

$150 is easily 3x what that radio is really worth. There just isn't the styling or performance to justify that kind of price. Walk away from it and keep your money for something better that will certainly show up in the future.

I will pass on it but keep my eye on it to see if the guy enters the realm of reality sometime in the near future. Jack, it has a fabulous original finish. Not wrinkle.
