Thought I'd post this again to "pull" it up out of the archives here.
Moulded and metal-end dogbone resistor size to wattage comparisons with contemporary carbon-comp sizes.
MOULDED

METAL-END

CARBON COMPOSITION

------------------
Chuck Schwark
The Philco Repair Bench at

http://www.philcorepairbench.com

Now who do I believe? My wife says size is no indication of performance.
Seriously, thanks, Chuck. I downloaded the info.
------------------
Mike
From the homestead on the banks of the Big River
"Daddy told me, 'Son, you're gonna drive me to drinkin' if you don't stop drivin' that hot rod Lincoln.'" Chuck:
Thanks, but could you post the pictures in 1:1 scale (100% actual size)? That would be really helpful. BOB
------------------
Thanks for the helpful reference Chuck. By the way, I've been reading through the "Trouble Shooting Techniques" service bulletin/handbook on your website. This is a great resource! It goes well with the "Elements of Radio Servicing" material being discussed on the other forum. Thanks again!
------------------
Gary

Simply adjust the size of the 'ruler' to get it to print out 1:1
Gary
------------------
Bob, I think the problem lies with the fact that every monitor size will produce a different size image regardless of how Chuck posts it.
One thing you can do is "right click" on the target image on Chuck's post and then click on "Save Picture As ..." and send the .jpg image to wherever you want on your hard drive. Then you can pull up a program like Microsoft Paint, load that image and make it bigger or smaller and print to check the results against a ruler.
Dean

------------------
Most graphics programs have a ruler guide on screen. Use that to properly size.

Here you go--just print them out and they should be the right size. I checked them and they're pretty close. Make sure when you print them out that you print to 100% scale--not fit to page.
