But I figured I'd mention it anyway. I was aligning a Heathkit Transceiver the other day and needed a plastic tool for a coil. I didn't have anything close. It also needed to be fairly long, about four inches, to reach the coil. I took one of those long match sticks and cut it down with a knife, tapered it and it worked quite well.

Indeed!!!---I have made all manner of tools and parts out of whatever was lying around. The unfortunate side effect of this behavior is that nothing gets thrown away (until a day or two before it's needed........;) )

Worn/bent chopsticks are for the asking in my house. So long as they are really dried out, make really nice alignment tools or whatever.

Yes chopsticks are good, harder wood than matchsticks. Thanks!
