Ebay has a weird little Toshiba model 9TM40 pocket transistor, ca. 60's and it is bid to 323$ right now. Best bet is to watch garage sales for garish or flashy looking old Japanese transistors, I would say. Item 330705333246

The Toshiba 9TM-40 is a larger "coat pocket" sized set, stands just over 6 inches tall. It's
got a nine transistor circuit and is a pretty decent performer.
Of course most of its collector value is due to its rarity, odd design features and the fact that most of these
are found with cracks (in the large clear plastic dial area)
This present Ebay auction should top out at over $400 due to the radio's good condition.

Here's a few pics of mine....

I had a green X brand cheap Japanese radio with metal grille and reverse paint on the top face. I think it was like, a dollar. I think I got like 75-85$ for it on ebay. But the condx. was pretty fine.

I never got into early transistor sets, but always appreciated them. I have to say, this one is cool! I like the Egyptian- style lettering!

Zero Feedback Seller. Seller account created on Mar 29th, 2012. I bet the buyer never gets his radio.

Those pics were indeed stolen. Man, I hate when people do that.
