How's the song go?
One of these things is not like the other....

Bought a vintage (actually rare) Supreme battery meter on eBay for my collection.
Photo on left is the auction photo. Photo on right is what I received today.

It will be interesting to see what the seller says happened to it.
It is a lot cleaner than the auction photo though.
How could you not notice you broke the needle off it?
Wish he had kept his fingers out of it.

Get your money back. That is all I can say. Does his feedback give a clue at all?

Actually I want the needle if he still has it so I can fix the thing.

Actually it does not look like the same meter to me, unless he spent his time cleaning it up after the auction, which seems counterpoductive. I have a little NOS Readrite "air cell" tester in the box that someone gave me. No numbers on it, just stuff like "OK" ranges. What do they mean by air cell? The meter looks brand new except for a couple spots where the wrinkle paint flaked here or there.

Definately not the same meter. Did he think you wouldn't notice the needle was missing? It's not likely he has a pile of them either where he could accidentally pick the wrong one to send.

Actually I think it is the same meter. I disassembled it and found the movement inside with the needle intact. It took me about a half hour to get the needle straight and everything back in place. Told him he probably should have packed it in a box with some padding and not have sent it in an envelope.

As long as you're happy with it is all that counts.

I'm sure it was the same meter. The two screws on the face are in the exact same position in both pictures.

10 bucks plus postage. This style is common but not this particular one made by Supreme. The meters in actual pocket watch cases are a little more collectible.
