The worthless, tiny picture looks to have been lifted from this site:

http://www.carters.com.au/index.cfm/ite ... with-five/

So...no idea what the radio actually looks like, if it even exists. All from a seller with 4 feedbacks as a buyer only. This auction stinks to high heaven.

Tell him you are very interested but must have photos of the back and the bottom. I bet "his camera is out for repair". He said "has all the movements" didn't he? So all you have to do is wind it up to play.

Just sent a letter asking to see pics of lower corners,
and would love to add this to my collection.
Lets see if I get a response.

My first thought was that the seller was doing what I've been doing - getting the maximum benefit from the free listings period by putting up cursory descriptions and then going back, after today, to expand upon them.

But he isn't doing that, not at all.

Besides which, for a $1500 radio, you'd take the time to dot all the is and cross all the ts, wouldn't you? And you wouldn't begrudge 50 cents.

There is no doubt in my mind that the picture is from the "Carter's" site.

I sent the seller an e-mail requesting pix of what he is actually selling.

Line 2 of my sig may apply......

I hadn't noticed that, until you pointed it out. But you're dead right!

Edited to add:

I have no doubt that you are correct. Unfortunately, ebay seems to strip most of the metadata from their pics, so Jeffrey's Exif Viewer (http://regex.info/exif.cgi) doesn't give us any proof.

Maybe you can "sell" stuff to your friends, accept non=paypal "payment" for non-existent items, and then build up bogus shill positive feedback?

OR seller started feeling the "heat" from requests for additional pics and had someone he knows "buy" it for him.

This seller only has four sales/feedbacks. Could it be that they were all fake sales to add credibility to this 1500.00 buy it now auction? Someone buys/pays for the item, seller takes the money and disappears!

Could have been someone local who actually had a chance to see the radio in person. Or a fool.

Anyway, it'll be interesting to see if any FB for this transaction ever appears.
