I love it when he says he has no reason to believe the remote won't work.

Why doesn't he just put some batteries in it and test? Or did I just answer my own question?

Well it takes 3 volts for the filament in the remote box... pair of D cells.. and it takes 90 volts thats 10 nine volt batteries wired in series to operate the B+ for the remote box. If as he says the radio was recapped I am sure they also did the remote box. It only has a couple caps in it. It will most likely work just fine.

The biggest problem with these is the ratcheting stepper relay that operates from the remote control to change stations to the pre-sets. It is inside that large metal box you see on the rear of the chassis.

on a 39 Philco I'd be less worried about 'recaped' and way more worried about 'rewired'
