Word has it that he goes to the Estes Auctions and lots of estate sales. He's sure supplied the radio deserts of the western U.S. with consoles, since he subsidizes the shipping costs.

I see him travel thousnads of miles a year to buy for resale. He works hard, deals honestly and is an honorable seller.....unlike many others. His success is the result of hard work and honest business.

Pennsylvania is the antique capital of the USA. It easy to spend a week or so traveling around the entire state antiquing from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh. However, the internet has greatly reduced the need for brick & mortar type antiquing. Yet, I could recall visiting a paper vendor who had a huge warehouse full of paper collectibles. I think it was called Mr. L's or three L's. A shopper could spend 2-3 hours in his warehouse alone rummaging through paper. After a few yours the buyer would take his mother load to Mr. L. Then the negotiating began. Mr. L would give his sell price on each paper/document. Some dickering would go back and forth depending on the condition/autograph/value of each item. Once a price for each item was reached, a price would be determined on the whole package (maybe another 5%).

One thing for sure its a good example the're plenty of radios out there.

I've have purchased from and personally met him. This is a income source for him. He decided on consoles as a niche market...although he occasionally sells other types.
As previously mentioned, he travels far-and-wide to source his radios...but he also does his homework/due diligence prior to his trips. He uses many different sources to locate the radios and has a very good idea of what he'll find before he leaves home. It is not a random search effort traversing across the land looking for radios.
He personally builds each shipping container and packs the radios and there is no mark up, more often-than-not a loss on the packing expense. But he feels it his duty to make sure the radio arrives as described and intact.
He is a very nice, very honest and very reasonable person...
BR,
Terry

I bought a Brunswick radio in a Duncan Phyfe end table last year. I mentioned I would drive over to pick it up and he said he was coming through Columbus and we worked out a deal for me to pick it up near the freeway. Real nice guy. A short chat and he was on his way. Radio table was real nice and looks great. Good price as well.

I can add also Willie is a nice fellow and great seller. He recently acquired some of my collection that was overflow and while in my area he bought another friend's collection also.
He does lots of driving to do this as a full time job. I have bought 3 times from him and was always satisfied.

I met Willie at an auction last year in Saratoga NY. He traveled over 400 miles for this auction and left with a ton of radios, he has a nice trailer on the back of his pickup that was pretty full when he left. Me and him went head to head over a Scott Phantom at the auction and I backed out when I saw he was not backing down at all. We talked after and he is a nice guy. He is one of the very few that will even take the risk to ship a console. Rock
