Never seen one of these before. Out of my price range and I would have preferred a cabinet, but still- really nice looking set.

Of course not....they are meant to be gutted via ebay and the cabinet turned into a fish tank....Don't you know

Just like those vintage speakers...they are meant to be gutted and used to house your Bose speakers...

Nitpicking, guys....

Obviously, if you had a mint vintage Duesnberg, you wouldn't go driving it around every single day!

Seller just drove 5 hours round trip and delivered this chassis and speaker to me for the same cost he had in the ad for shipping.
Got it on right now and its a wonderful sounding player. Trans nice and not-too-hot to the touch.

Very good seller I have purchased from before. These speakers are very hard to find.

Really? I ask because I have one that's nearly identical sitting in my garage, the last two digits are 23 instead of 50 but I'm guessing that's the date? Mine has some small tears in the cone and is missing the cover on the magnet.

Pardon the hijack, just curious.

I used to be overly cautious about using my sets, but like with an old car, or any other item, enjoying it is what it's all about! As far a something going bad or just normal wear and tear, well, then that will be for the next care-taker of the item to deal with as you did when you got first got it!

If the guy did a good job and the knobs are now useful to turn on light and activate something (color change? animation?) in there, then that's cool. Otherwise, Bleh.

The zenith huge round dial somewhat give a marine look to the fishtank!

People are scared of "old" electronics.
They don't know that, while somewhat primitive in design and some components needs to be replaced, they are way better build than today's electronics. And can actually be repaired.

The days of "no user serviceable parts inside" made a lot of people nervous about older electronics that haven't found its way to the trashcan.

I like my old radio just that more because of it. Not only to the fact that it can actually play a radio station well and sound great, something that I have a hard time with most modern radios. Or that it actually is a nice looking piece of furniture.
