How critical is it to use 26 ga vs 28 ga for the coils if the coil is adjusted so the Q is close to what is call for on the schematic?

I doubt you could tell the difference. So many other variables, like component layout, grounds, spacing of winding...
I sure wouldn't stop building to find another piece of wire.
