I have a junk chassis from an A-K 35. I've already salvaged some parts from it to use in my "good" Model 35. I am wondering, though, if the tuning caps (which are quite rusty right this moment) RF transformers and AF transformers (if good) can be successfully used in a reflex circuit?

Rich,

I see no reason why the A-K 35 parts could not be used in a reflex...

Keep in mind that a reflex is a cranky receiver to get working right. One trick is to be sure the audio transformer frames are at ground potential and may have to have the P/B+ leads or the G/C- leads exchanged to stop audio oscillation. Swap one side or the other.

You might even try lashing it up on the gutted 35 chassis...

He, he, years ago for a fun experiment. I made slip-over coils that slid over the 1st & 3rd rf coils of an A-K 20, with an tuner condenser in parallel. I got the 20 to regenerate and greatly increase its sensitivity. Though it was difficult to control it did work. No permanent mods to the A-K 20 were involved.

The rheostats probably won't be useful as they are too low a resistance for a single tube filament.

Chas
