I wonder, what happened to bring to an end to the SSTrans?

Failure of businesses with close ties to the hobby are of interest.

I would guess he was unable to source a key component that is now obsolete.

Going to surface mount would complicate the kit for most so if parts available is the
problem there may not be a rebirth.

But in the mean time here is an idle thought.

If one is going out of business with regard to a product like that, why not release all the design and parts supplier information to the public?
