Thanks for the links. The power rating information is especially useful in todays world. The IHFM story is interesting. I saved it all for future reference, because it's more than I can just absorb while I have the phone line tied up on the internet. Mark D.

Just an update one speaker has been saved from being broken up. I have just recapped a 6V6GT mono amp and was looking for a speaker to try, i used thebest speakers out of both fishers and i have to say i have got a good sound, nice fat bass and sweet treble. So they gota reprieve in one respect.
Basic system
Electrohome 6V6GT amp from 1957 BSR deck (1970) 1 Fisher/Sanyo floor stander.
Ive just been playing best of Burt Kaempfert and it sounds lovely im impressed.
cost me $15 turntable speaker free and the amp was $40 + $12 to do a recapp.
