I have a Bogen LX-60 designed for four 6AV5 output tubes. Does yours have two 6AV5 tubes? I highly recommend changing to 6FW5 which have much higher voltage and power ratings, for reliable operation. No circuit changes. Bogen also changed 5Y3 to 5AR4 rectifiers.
These LX are Luxury models, with special Hi-Fi frequency response and large output transformers, probably for live theaters.

Thanks for the heads up, I didn't know that they were hi end and that 6FW5s are better.

Bogen also made the DB130 Hi-Fi amplifier for home use with phono preamps, etc, the same output circuit, and they sell for good money even now on Epay.
Epay has operator manuals and schematics for the LX-30 now.
The 6AV5 and the upgraded 6FW5 are very linear sweep tubes for B&W TV sets and have no top caps, so they are safer for people to use. I don't have the LX-30 schematic, I am assuming it is a lower-power version of the LX-60, so check the chassis to see what tubes it has.
6FW5 are only $4 each at vacuumtubes.net.

It's packed up for my move to Green Valley AZ. Johnnysan was kind enough to send me a PDF of the manual. Once I get settled I'll get to it and see what I need to do.
Thanks
