It's a mid 60's tube amp from which organ I don't remember. It has two chassis; one is the PS which has a big tranny a choke and two 5AR4's. The second of the two chassis, the amp, has two identical channels that drove a left and right 8" and a third mono LF channel that ran a 15" bass driver. I thought about going over it and using it with a sub and two satellites. Your thoughts are welcomed and encouraged! Thanks in advance.

No firsthand experience, but Momma Hammond didn't raise no dummies. Just for reference, are these 3 PP channels or SE and what are the outputs (6L6)?

All those old sets HONK really good. Mine are a little older with Holland 7189's. Built right, they are.

I suspect you can use it with a good quality 15" woofer for the bass then a good 8" woofer and tweeter for the satellites.

Lots of information here:

I have a 50's C3 and love it, and have also gotten a few salvaged M2 amps and turned them into guitar screamers. Just about all those old time organ amps had extremely good iron and ran very conservitively. Many 50+ year old electronic organs are still fired up on Sundays, and whenever they have choir practice. Not to mention the B3's still found in major recording studios because nothing else sounds the same.

I run a pair of power amps from L100's (purchased from a show, I don't strip gear for amps) and they actually sound rather good as hi fi units even though they were never intended to be. They both came with their original Amperex tubes (2-6BQ5, 2-12AX7) which I believe contributes to their rather lush tone. Highs are crisp, lows are in the basement and mids are full but not overpowering. I have used them on everything from a set of mid 80's KLH 3-ways to a set of boutique tower speakers I built and achieved similar results. Keep in mind that these amps have not been restored. They are factory original. Probably on borrowed time with the lytics but everything is within acceptable tolerances as of now. I have an old Gulbransen amp as well that I use in a Magnavox phono/amp cabinet driving a 15" woof, 8" mid and 2 4" tweets and it sounds sweet. Just my two cents on organ amps and hi fi..

Concerning using the bass channel for a sub I'd recommend against it as most subwoofers are not very efficient and you have limited power here. Instead find a good quality woofer that will go as low as you want it to as they are generally more efficient and more accurate in the bass reproduction.
