Many years ago I was given an Allen-Bradley brand Bradley Amplifier, the "Perfect Audio Amplifier". This is a three tube, resistance coupled amplifier. Mine has 2A3 type tubes. It looks like it was intended to work as the amplifier stage for a radio as there is a "Detector Plate" label at one of the binding posts.

The chassis is Bakelite and the connections are silver plated binding posts. The Allen-Bradley logo, along with the binding post labeling is molded into the chassis. All in all, a nice looking vintage amplifier.

I used to work at Allen-Bradley (now Rockwell Automation) in Milwaukee. They have a nice museum about the early days of the company tucked away in the factory. That museum is the only place that I have seen anything on the amp. They had a reproduction of an ad for the amplifier and other radio parts from the early 20's hanging on a wall at the museum.

I have been looking for a schematic and any other information that is available for this amplifier. I haven't found anything. If anyone has some information on this vintage amplifier please let me know.

Thanks!

Here is a link to an ad for the Bradley Amplifier from 1925. The ad also has some interesting pictures of other early radio components.

Very nice amplifier. If you know what voltages it runs on and you have an antique speaker try the amp out and see how it sounds.

It certainly shouldn't have 2A3s in it.

If an amp was made in 1925, it certainly shouldn't use 2A3's. The 2A3 didn't come along until the early 1930's.
