I purchased a Pioneer SX-750 Stereo Receiver at a Estate Sale.
Would anyone be familiar with this model or similar?

It has this contact paper on it's side cabinet which parts have peeled away. I assume this model has the same color,would anyone know what it's color is and where to purchase it?

WalMart, Target, etc.
Some people strip the old vinyl and recover the case with real wood veneer. Looks really nice with a good oiled finish. Not too hard to do. You can buy real wood veneer with a peel and stick backing so not much different than covering with contact paper. Iron-on wood veneer is also available.

But best to have it checked out/serviced by a knowledgeable tech since it's over 30+ years old, or the cosmetics would be the least of your concerns.

Excellent mid-range type receiver. I have one in service for several years and found the tuner good and power output acceptable.

The vinyl can be replaced with more stick-on vinyl or wood veneer if you want to go to the extra effort.

You may want to snoop around at this forum which has a section devoted to Pioneer equipment.

You have what is called a silver face Pioneer from the late 70's and very collectable.

The main age related issues are the older electrolytic capacitors. If the unit was in service and working using it as is probably isn't that risky but you may want to put a plan in place to systematically replace the many electrolytics especially in the power supply and output amps. Once they go on their own lots of magic smoke comes out....

We've had a couple where we stripped off the fake laminate, sanded the wood, masked with painter's tape, and then sprayed with semi-gloss black. The effect is quite pleasant to the eye.
