I agree with Larry, the amp needs to be used, it’s just too good to be put on a shelf.

I like the vertical component board in the A-323S, makes it easy to get at the capacitors. Not so in the 323B. Notice in the picture below of my 323 that there are only 2 capacitors visible on the board. That’s because the rest are all underneath the board and NOT easy to get at.

Although my amp was missing the Peerless output transformer, I was able to find a transformer can that was a close match to the original can. It’s re-stuffed with the Stancor transformer from the box shown.

I routinely cycle pairs of amps through the stereo system in our living room, so having only one of this amp, I’ve paired it with several other amps to audition it. It holds its own against a Fisher 80AZ, Dynaco Mark IV, Heathkit W-5M, and a UTC LS-63. Not better or worse, just slightly different. I’ve almost completed a Mac MC-30, we’ll see how it compares with that!

Handsome amp, MAG.

It may be even better if you can find a pair of shield caps for those two 6J7 tubes. That's one of my favorite types, so I make sure I have plenty of those crowns in stock.

 Larry

I must say that is tempting but my setup is complete and sounding great and I need the money for medical bills.
I am almost ready to put it up for sale. Wondering if there is a better option than ebay.

Why not sell it on the classifieds here?

Yes, keep it "in the family" by all means.

I am very new here and didn't see the classified section. Will have to figure out how to do that. You all are very kind and have made me feel like a member of the family. That's a great idea, thank for the suggestion.
I'm old so it sometimes takes a while for my brain to absorb everything.

Give it a try here. I don't want it, have too many to listen to, but I think $250 would be fair. Sadly, another $50 to ship unless your neighbor wants it.

Agreed, I wouldn't take less than $250 for it straight up, if it was mine. Plus shipping (unless someone could pick it up).

Really, only $250. Seems like they are going for much more than that on Ebay. Am I missing something?

Do they actually go for much more, or is someone simply asking much more?

Ok, I guess I was dreaming. You are right of course. The ones I saw were asking prices (maybe dream prices) and did not see any sold.
Anyway I went ahead and put it on Ebay since I already had it prepared. Started it at $9.99 as someone suggested. Hopefully someone will put it to use.
It is too beautiful to sit on my self.
Thanks to everyone for all the help.

Here is an update on the Ebay sale. It went for $733.00 plus the $50.00 shipping.
I feel sure that at that price the buyer knows what they are getting and will put it back in service.
Thanks again for all the good info from everyone here.
Bill
