Hi everyone. My father gave me his old record player (maybe from the 60s?). It is a Sterling 1500A. Its not turning anymore, and I don't know if it is worth fixing. I tried googling it, but got absolutely no results, not even a mention of it. The only other thing it says on it, is that it was crafted in Great Britain.

Anyone know anything about it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

-Ryan

Thats a late model rebadged BSR, turntable platter is the giveaway.
It will be 1970s
I have a few BSR turntables, they work ok but will never be audiophile quality.
If it doesnt turn likely issues are hardened grease and maybe the rubber idler has gone hard.
It needs to be stripped and cleaned

Agree with all. You can get a new idler wheel if that's all you need, and usually that plus a good lube will do it. Fitted with a ceramic type cartridge, it's OK for casual playing. Probably can get a spindle for 45's as well, millions were made.

The BSR 500 series usually had a magnetic cartridge installed.
4-pole motors too.
These models were the higher end from BSR.
The 600 series had cast aluminum platters.
