Finally got around to piecing together a nearly all Dynaco setup after several years of acquiring the equipment. Setup is comprised of Dynaco components: ST-70 power amp, PAS-3 preamp, and A-25 speakers. Turntable is a Technics. Man this setup sounds awesome! I'm tempted to get another set of speakers for another nearly complete ST-70 setup I have...

I know Dynaco doesn't get much respect, but I real loved my SCA-80 amp. It was a workhorse for many a year, and I wish I hadn't sold it!

Hey, decent iron, conservative design, worked good did for decades, still good. Enjoy it. Just keep the caps and resistors up to date..

Tesla, you'll eventually have to go in to the chiropractor if you don't get that equipment up off the floor :(

You might keep your eye peeled for a ventilated cage that goes over the ST-70. They came with the amp, but I'm not sure exactly what purpose it serves. Where's your tuner? And CD player? What is the black box on top of the preamp?

I've always been interested in A-25 speakers, but have never heard them.

P.S. I now see your setup is on a table. Sorry.

You can buy them on eBay, or brand new here:

There is no question about the purpose - the cover is there to keep hands/fingers and flammable items like paper away from the high temperatures and voltages.
