Hi all,

Just uploaded a bunch of Sherlock Holmes OTR and newer shows, with corrected metadata. Skimmed from all corners of the internet, I've tried really hard to make sure the air dates are accurate. Enjoy!

Can't post links yet, but search for "MASSIVE Collection of Sherlock Holmes Radio Shows" at the Internet Archive.

I just went to the Archives and checked out the postings. Man, that was a major undertaking. You deserve a huge pat on the back, my friend. Allow me to give it to you. Very good job!

Yes a magnificent collection by smurfmeat!

I found that to get all 566 mp3 files just go to the original post link and then click:

"566 files VBR MP3"

A single zip file of about 10 Gigabytes will download in the background of your browser. Only an hour or so with broadband.

Then transfer over to a single thumbdrive, a few DVDs, or several CD's and you have it all offline.

Hi Smurfmeat-I really appreciate the huge undertaking you did to upload all the
Sherlock Holmes radio shows to internetarchive.org. Am I doing something wrong?
I saw a posting in which someone said it took about an hour to download the 9 gb zip
file but when I do it on our high speed wi fi it says it will take 1 day 3 hours. I have tried it
many times and even after letting it download for 5 or 6 hours I am only up to about 2 gb of
the zip file. Then I tried hooking my laptop up to the router with its ethernet cable and it still was just as slow. I selected VBR MP3 (567 files) then I click the little download symbol that is a downward pointing arrow on top of a hyphen. Am I doing something wrong or do I just have too slow of a connection?

Great job, though. Can't wait to have the collection.

I'm having trouble finding it. The closest hit I got was here:
https://archive.org/details/SherlockHolmesCollection
And that one shows only 248 files.

I checked this morning and apparently it has been removed from internetarchive.org in its entirety.

Apparently, Jim French's Imagination Theatre episodes were copyrighted and his estate requested they be removed from the collection. In the next couple of weeks, I'll be in a position to re-upload the entire collection minus those offending shows. I'm currently out of country and do not have a reliable internet connection.

It's unfortunate because the Imagination Theatre episodes are perhaps the highest quality modern episodes, even authorized by the Doyle estate, and many of them are unavailable for purchase.
