Box 13 has become one of my favorite shows recently because of the unique plot twists and good audio quality.
Alan Ladd plays a former reporter, Dan Holiday, who is now a mystery writer. Dan gets his ideas from an ad he runs in the Star Times: “Adventure wanted, will go anywhere, do anything - write Box 13, Star-Times."
Holiday's scatterbrained secretary, Suzie, was played by Sylvia Picker and Police Lieutenant Kling was played by Edmund MacDonald.
The show aired from August 1948 to August 1949 giving us a total of 52 episodes.
My favorite episode so far is Short Assignment: "Where a meek little detective named George Flit hires Dan Holiday to help prevent a suicide." If you're looking for a well written and acted thriller with just a touch of comedy check out Box 13.

I like Night-Beat real well too, it was one of the first shows I started listening to. I just got done organizing my Night-Beat shows, deleting the duplicates, and correcting the ID tags where needed.
