Over the weekend, to finally get them out of the way, I did a few "junk" transcriptions - i.e. worn, public service, or unpopular titles. Among them were a couple of country shows in excellent sound. Included in the zip is also a classical show with Oscar Levant.

The OTR forum has been pretty dead lately -
I'm pleased to release what are probably uncirculated episodes of the Great Gildersleeve, from the obscure 1955-57 run. One is only a half-ep. I included AFRTS #498, which I released before, because it was from the same time period. Don Rickles is the announcer

AND (alas only a half-ep) the only episode to my knowledge to surface of the Rock n Roll Dance Party done by Alan Freed and Count Basie.

Cliff I tried your link and this is what I got.
The quickkey you provided for file download was invalid. This is usually caused because the file is no longer stored on Mediafire. This occurs when the file is removed by the originating user or Mediafire.

Try it again - the big band one was working now. Sometimes mediafire is flakey.

Cliff, What program do you use to clean up the OTR?

Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude, stripgear, I didn't see your question till now - I use Waves Diamond, which is kind of like CEDAR. I have two control marks for cleaning. (cleaned) means it's reasonably clean afterwards. (NR) means noise reduction - that the program was too noisy to clean up.
And by cleaned, I let the program do its bit, and I hand take out larger clicks, but I don't manually go through the program and take out every small little click. That would take hours.

Hello Cliff,
Way back on page one, you had posted a Richard Diamond A. Did I miss it, or will there be a B? I always liked Dick Powell in the movies, and now that I've heard these I like them too.
Thanks for all the other posts and I'm glad I got the 80GB Ipod. I have them with me whenever I travel for work!

Hi,
I do have fairly many lo-gen Richard Diamonds - I have so many shows to clean up - I had stalled out on the Richard Diamond project. I'll try to post some more sometime.

Cliff,
Thanks for continuing to provide us with great sounding OTR episodes. I certainly do enjoy listening to OTR on my restored antique radios - it's almost like owning a time machine.
Best Regards,
Rick

In honor of Veteran's Day, here's Norman Corwin's V-E Day special. Due to popular demand it was repeated on 5-13. This copy was from WJR transcriptions, and has 2 minutes of line noise during the show.

Cliff, I believe you've motivated me to become a member here at Antique Radios. I've been indebted to the site for some time, but i started to wax philisophical (some of us tend to do that when we get to this age. Heavy sigh.....) about the "Golden Age of Radio".
So! While it is true that i was smitten very early in life by the glow of the tube, it has taken me until now, 45+years later to return to the yesteryear of my youth. Only this time I'm actually attempting to learn something of the workings that have made radio what it is.
I think that, while I enjoy the radios that I've returned to the land of the living, it may actually NOT be the radios that I'm enamored of.
Perhaps it's really the programs, many of which were before my time.
This doesn't mean that I enjoy them less, on the contrary! How great it is to hear them, and begin to get a sense of the history of the development of this "Golden Age".
In the mean time, I find myself indebted to wonderful fellows like you that have made it possible to capture some of these moments for posterity. Thankyou for what you do.

Hi Cliff-Nice to visit your corner. I am off for 4 days so plan to try some OTR from your place. Turn the Fisher up a bit, sit on the porch with a ML and a cigar and enjoy life.

Sounds cool!
I recommend running the transmitter at night - the signal comes out better.

Thanks again, Cliff! I just downloaded a bunch more of them. I really appreciate this.
I think I'm all caught up now, except Mel Blanc, Gildersleeve1957, and Freed/Basie. Those links don't seem to be working right now.
