Up for sale is a 1935 American Bosch 450, which I have restored cosmetically and electronically. The radio uses 6 tubes: 80, 42, 75, 6A7, and two 6D6 tubes. It has two bands: Broadcast band, which runs from 540 to 1700 Kc, and a shortwave band, which runs from 6 to 18 Mc. The radio also uses the now defunct police band. I was unable to hear anything while using this band. All the tubes in this radio have been tested, and they all test within the good range on a Heathkit IT-17 tube tester, except for one 6D6, which is marginal. The speaker field coil was open when I received this radio, and has since been rewound. The new coil can be seen in the picture of the radio's chassis. The cabinet has many small imperfections in the finish, as it was my first cabinet restoration. There are some runs in the lacquer on the left side of the radio, which can be seen in the third picture. Also, the knobs on the radio are not original, and were missing when I first received it. The last picture shows the radio in as-found condition. I am asking $125 OBO for this radio. I am located at 02911 and cam ship if need be. Please PM me for further details or if you have any questions or if you want to see a video of it playing.

Here's the radiomuseum page for this radio: https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/united_450h.html

Here's an unrestored one that recently sold on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/-/372333700015 ... 675.l10137

Here's a restored example with original knobs: https://radioattic.com/item.htm?radio=0960567

Just a side note: written in pencil on the radio chassis are the words "War December 7, 1941."
