I am trying to distinguish which wire is the Orange and Red on a multi value Philco cap number 30-2575-50 from my model 1753 record player console.
Both wires look kind of orange. So I can't decide for sure which is which. I don't have a schematic so have no alternative method to find which wire is correct to replace this cap with individual caps.
Orange is 425 MFD
Red is 50MFD
Blue is 20 MFD
Yellow is 50MFD
Black is common.
I can see the blue, black and yellow.
I think number 2 is the Orange and red #1? But the red would have to be really faded!
Can anyone else make out these faded colors?
Update: I was able to find the schematic on line and can now find where each separate cap is supposed to go in the set. However I may as well leave this up for reference.
This cap was in pretty bad condition. All four internal caps had failed completely. The end is bulged out and surface bubbles all over. Nasty!
No wonder the previous owner of the phonograph said it was a noisy set.....
