I pick old ones up at the flea market for .25 or .50 to install on old radios. Why pay $5.00 each plus shipping? Patience pays when it comes to parts. Eventually you will find a lot of odd parts you need if you're willing to dig in boxes that appear to have electrical/electronic parts at flea markets and junk stores.

And hamfests.

A little digging works wonders. There and doing that since 1974 .

I also dig at flea markets and have over a dozen of different types of antique plugs all strung up through their prong holes on a piece of wire, like a stringer of fish. Never paid over a quarter for any of them.

My problem with the used old plugs is finding or making the insulating discs to cover those hot wires.

I was fortunate that I have a plentiful supply from one of my bulk buys years ago and I have a variety of sizes and shapes of the inserts for the plugs I pick up. If you could find an appropriate thickness of cardboard, you could cut your own and punch the slots with a small chisel.

Our local surplus store has some sheets of "fish paper" - the stuff that's used to
make electrically-insulated thingies. We used it when making high voltage switching supplies. PM an address..

Fish paper is available from any Philmore parts dealer, ( thats where I got my roll of it) , and should be readily available from any wholesale electrical supply. They use it in back of the main breakers in many power breaker panels.

If you want new, polarized "antique" plugs look here:
