So I ordered a 6K5 from that supplier in Arizona about 3 months ago...just opened the box and noticed it's a GT...what I wanted was the ST shape one. Arrgh! I should have noticed on their site it was a GT...Of course, the original tube fits inside a raised shield base, and you just know the GT is too large to fit inside it. Not the fault of antique electronics... was my hurry up and order it attitude. Of course I even went as far as cutting the bit of bakelite off the base, but that wasn't enough. And now I can't do a return. But the return shipping probably costs almost as much as another tube. Ah well...may need it in some future set.
However, there is a gent near me who may have the ST shape I need.
I can really annoy myself somedays. :x

Good luck hunting. The 6K5G isn't at all common. I've used the GT in and out of projects since high-school days, but I never saw a G.

Hi

Use a 6Q7G in place of 6K5G if pins #4 and #5 do not have socket connections. 6Q7G looks similar and is easier to get.

Ok...have a few of those laying about. Most in boxes so not sure of shape. Thanks
