Hello from Pittsburgh.
my name is brian and i am glad to be here on your site. I have started to really get into vintage record players and i have purchased two Steelman models both in very rough shape. i have started work on my little 3S8 model as it seems fairly simple. I am, however, having problems finding an Electrolytic capacitor I need. it is a 50/30 150volt unit. can anyone point me in the right direction?

You need to buy two discrete replacement capacitors. You can use a 47 mf to rreplace the 50 and a 33 mf to replace the 30, as these are modern values. Observe the polarity. The original has a common negative, and you will make it so by joining the negative wires of the new replacement capacitors together. Cut the old part out and discard it.

Make a list of everything you need to defray shipping charges.

Good advice.

I buy from Mouser or Digi-Key.

Use 160V capacitors.... better yet.... 200V. Line voltages are higher today than they were 50 or 60 years ago.
