For 99.44% of humanity all 6SN7's are interchangable. Audiofools and early AC/DC TV's are a few exceptions

+1.

The 6SN7GTB had a heater with a controlled warmup time (11 seconds) for use in TV's with series heater strings. Otherwise, there is nothing significant to choose among GT, GTA and GTB.

For our use 6SN7GT, A and B are interchangeable however there are differences. 6SN7GTA was upgraded to make a better Vertical Deflection Amplifier in TV. Max plate voltage was increased from 300 to 450. Plate dissipation increased from 3.5 to 5 watts.

As Larry mentioned "B" added controlled heater warmup time to "A" specs.

Since those other uses make up a miniscule percentage in this century I alloted them .56%

Audiophools are another breed and not discussed in polite society

Must be, they are ones which bring the most money.

Actually 6SN7 was seldom used in radio. Very popular as horizontal osc, vertical osc, output and sync stages in 1940's & 1950's TV.

The best-sounding 6SN7s are the ones with round plates. In those, all the sound can arrive at the plate at the same time. With boxy or oblong plates, some of the sound gets there late and makes things rather mucky.

Transit time, y'know.....

Havbe you forgotten the snub nose offset plate chrome top Sylvanias? least microphonic.

Just kidding, but the button base RCA 1970s versions were really the worst crap ever.
