Newbie question:
I have 5 radios to recap. Does it make sense to buy the capicitor and resistor kits? Just tryin to decide which way to go.

John

If working on a single radio kit may be the way to go. With 5 radios or more in the future you may want to buy quantity of .1 mf and others.

There's no such thing as "5 radios to recap." If you have that many now, you'll have more later, and there are certain caps you'll need a lot of (resistors such as 100K also). Do as Norm says and start stocking up.

You can probably find schematics on your radios on Nostalgia Air resources and compile a list of components. Old radios should have a fresh set of capacitors and carbon resistors. So, yes, makes sense to buy in bulk with a few spares for oft used values. Jameco and Just Radios are hobby friendly sources. Many others also mentioned on these forums.

I got a bunch of power resistors from and estate sale and a bunch more sent to me from a friend.
I'm lacking capacitors, (gotta get an order in). But if you need one or two, yours for postage.
