I've also never seen that reach back feature on a Zenith knob. If they had flat backs, I'd say there were from the top corners of a 1937 Zenith console or large tombstone, as Zenith used both pinched and round knobs with those dimensions for the tone and sensitivity knobs.

I think that's what they are for also,the tone controls.I have a few 12 tubers that there's barely enough shaft coming out of the cabinet to get a knob on it and it has to be rubbing the escutcheon to fit on.Awesome,I will replace those ones with these ones! Thanks Guys! Phil
