You won't catch me trashing books either. I have over 2500 volumes in my library now, and it took too long to assemble them. Larry

Although I don't have that many (maybe 3 feet or so of shelf space), I find no reason not to have both paper and electronic resources available.
When I need a Beitmans schematic, I simply call it up on the PC, print it out, and take it to my bench. Much easier using it there, than if I were dealing with a book-bound page.
In fact as often as not, when needing the schematic from one of my Sams TSM's, I will print it out as well, for the above reason.

Well, I haven’t abandoned this thread; I’m moving into my third month of moving my 70 years worth of “everything” collection and only get a few minutes a day to check out the forums I belong to. Interesting replies, seems like those that have a library will keep them till the sand runs out of their glass but those that taint got a collection of books are satisfied, for now, with a digital library. I’ve scanned tons of stuff over the past quarter century on computers and that much more on tape. I stored stuff in about every electronic form that came along over the decades. Trying to find a computer, tape or record player to easily recover it is really a hassle and next to impossible sometimes. But walking into the library and plucking a hard cover book off the shelf and thumbing to the page in half a minute really seems to be a more efficient way for an old timer like me. Digital saves space and trees!!! Yep, now doubt but I don’t want to live in an empty house and once the book is printed, as has already been mentioned, its forever, and trees are a renewable resource. Those plastic discs get thrown in the trash heap are made from petroleum, a non-renewable source which we are using up at an exponential rate. Saw one post where the claim was that two complete sets of Riders in nice shape went for $13, that sounds like the prices the “Pickers” put on things. “Paid $13, sold for $300 as set, profit $293.50”. I paid $250 for my set from Fred Schultz down in Ligonier, IN about twenty years ago and that was a good price back then for a complete set in good shape. So, bottom line is I guess I’ll have to find ten feet of shelf space at the new house cuz I’ll be danged if I’m gonna give them away.

I and a number of other forum members were there plus , numerous folk into the hobby. No I did not buy them . A complete set was offed in the Classifieds about 2 weeks ago for 125.00 . As of this time I think they are still for sale . http://www.antiqueradios.com/forums/vie ... 2#p1612952Just because some thing sold for X price a number of years ago doesn't mean it's going to increase in value over the years . I collect 18thC early American furniture . I was finally able to finally purchase a cira1750 Kas I could afford because interest in that kind of item in this country has waned over the last 30 years making one affordable . I am glad for that . For those wanting a set of Riders , they are cheaper then ever . Isn't that a good thing for those that want a set ?

Just sold a clean #XXIII at Kutztown for $70. I only took # 21, 22, and 23 from my spare sets. Sold them all. The first five and the last three are really the only ones worth the shipping cost.
