I webmaster a site for a club to which I belong. Recently I've had complaints that members need to scroll right to see the entire width of some of the pages.

I am spoiled with my wide-screen laptop's 1366x768 resolution, and now I'm aware that I've been neglectful of users who may not have that wide a screen.

What screen resolutions does everyone have on their monitors?

1024 x 768 works for me. Many people need to have the settings at different levels not only because of the size of their monitor, but so they can read the print even when that is set to large. I have my text size set to "larger" and with that resolution on a 17" monitor still find it barely acceptable.

Not directed at you, or your website, but a major problem for many of us who are on dialup internet service is large pages which employ flash, java, and other things which take several minutes to load or to go from one page to the next.

1024 here. I was set at 800 for years until a recent change here on ARF convinced me to go to 1024 to avoid scrolling.

It took a couple of days to get used to and now its fine for me. 15" monitor.

My laptop is set at something higher, I forget exactly what.

I am running 1680x1050 on my 22" widescreen LCD screen. Fonts are decently sized and the brightness and quality is great.

1268X960 32 bits on my 21". I dumped the widescreen because I wanted all my photos to fill the screen.

Movies don't interest me on my computer.

Just got a new HP computer last weekend. Came with an HDMI 24" monitor and runs at 1920x1200 resolution. It has built-in web cam I'll never use. But it has a memory card slot and it doubles as a video picture frame with its own remote control. I'm happy.

I forget what this one is set for, but I am completely happy with it. It is a 19" Hewlett-Packard HP w-1907 flat screen monitor and only takes up a small fraction of the space my old Medion 17" CRT monitor did on the computer desk. A lot brighter and more defined also. My computer at work is an old 17" CRT monitor and it could not hold a candle to this one. I can see what people post in their posts with it, but if I want a clear bright picture of it, I wait until I get home to view it on this one.

Oops, just remembered it is time to wipe all the Raman Noodle soup residue off the screen. I guess I lost part of my sense of humor, as I used to keep it pretty much hosed down with cold 807 residue when someone would post something funny!

19" CRT monitor, res 1024 x 768... Space isn't a issue, I'll run this monitor and/or a spare I have, till they prefect those flat screen thingys... Wife has one on her computer(had to have it cause they were using them at work), I don't like it... Probably there are better ones available than hers, but why buy something when I'm happy with what I have???

I am using 800x600 here on mu desktop with a 17" monitor, 1024x768 is much too small for my poor eyesight.
My laptop is 1024x768 and I can't read the text without looking about 2" from the screen using a magnifying glass. :(
I would rather scroll from side to side when reading text that has a large picture than to strain my already bad eyes.

I use an Imac 1680x1050 32 bit. The screen is 20" diag. I like the feature of using the scroll wheel with control button to zoom in and out.

1440x900 on a pair of side by side 19" widescreen LCD monitors, total viewable area is 2880x900. I had this setup from when I used to work from home doing computer work. I don't need two screens anymore, but its a case of I already have it, so I'm not getting rid of it.

Mine's running at 1024 x 768. Not sure what that means to anyone. When I got this monitor, I just adjusted resolution until the print was readable, and stuff fit on the screen. Changing resolution seemed to make stuff way too big or way too small, or just right.
It's an old 20" CRT Sony I got for free. Built into the wall, it's basically my version of a flat screen, except it has the great color and brightness of a CRT.

Ditto here -- dual flat panel 21" wide screen monitors - at 3360 x 1050. Ubuntu Linux.

I used 1024x768 from 2001 to 2008; my website was designed around 800x600 so it has been a problem for me to upgrade the graphics with the trend of higher resolutions. I've made pictures of my plastic/bakelite radios larger though.

Now I'm on a laptop with 1280x800 resolution, and I use a second monitor for an extended desktop with resolution 1152x864.

It bugs me a lot when many websites assume larger screen resolutions and don't scale down well, or even print out correctly.
