There's some other interesting radios at this auction, so I guess that I'll have to check it out. The Pilot FM tuner has its original box, but you'd have to be a die-hard Pilot collector to value that.

...I'd have liked a better look at the tuning dial to see what they were referring to as 'VHF', but IIRC 'Gauers' is/was a Swiss make...that radio has the typical early-60s Euro transistor look to it...

I've seen several Gauer radios and owned one very similar to the one in that photo.

They all were rebadged radios that incorporated the AIRCRAFT band as the VHF band. I guess that's what Gauer did as a business.
