Wellll...I just got screwed (again) by The GENERAL ERROR.
Of course I did not remember to 'Copy', as this is an
non-requirement Anywhere Else on the Web.
After spending 7-8 minutes on a Post...I SUBMIT...and GONE!
Will this ever be Fixed? :? :x
Or is this a devious plot to weed out the less patient
members?

The General makes his/her appearance quite often these days.

If you keep hitting the refresh button (a circular arrow on this Opera browser) you will eventually get through, and the post will be accepted.

The GENERAL must be on steroids tonight; he kept showing up and add insult to injury, I crossed his path three times just getting to this post! I wonder if its sabotage by the people that make all the I-stuff since we all keep fixing the old radios instead of buying little white plastic boxes.

Yep!
Notice the new commercials For Windows 7 - by
pushing the idea that your PC is 'old' now...it's not as fast
as it could be, and you certainly don't have the
newest model! The commercials feature a woman's
house (although in the two instances I have seen, a Man
does reside there also...in some capacity.. ) They
remodel the house into a PC store, and demonstrate how
'out of it' and unfashionable she is. An obvious attempt to
spur sales to the majority of people who are satisfied with
the speed and capabilities of their 'old' 4 year old machine.

As Win7 is giving my wife problems on her notebook and XP on her home PC, I dug out her old Win98 PC from 2006 to copy old photos. It ran flawlessly on the internet too. (auto update disabled) Needlessly to say, she is pissed that it works and the new doesn't.

I use XP. Tried Vista for an hour on a spare HD.

Dear RadioNut39
--Having lost some rather long posts to the same problem you mentioned, I always keep a running copy in note pad, just in case.
I have had the same problem over at EEVBLOG. Best Regards

I just keep highlighting and copying, in case the post is lost. So many General Errors I'm beginning to think the site is ran by General Motors :P
