The people in the branches and their supervisors aren't the problem. Most are really super decent folks. The industry is rotten from the very top down. Read international banking cartel. A certain NON!- governmental body comes to mind.

I fired Bank of America last year and went to USAA. BofA started stacking fees that would have cost me about $400 a year to keep my money there. I can think of better uses for my money. I used them for ten years in CA and liked the bank and services. When they opened in RI, I transfered to them and until recently I received excellent service at my local branch. Then they closed it and started the new fees. When I told the former manager of our local (closed) branch I was going to USAA, she told me she didn't blame me and that I would get better service at USAA. Not only have they disgruntled customers but their management folks are unhappy.

I will cut slack to some twentysomething who is just happy to have a job, and knows nothing about how the world really works.

It's amazing how times have changed. Bankers and lawyers used to be admired and respected. Who's next?

Fired my bank over a decade ago and went with a credit union I had access to through work. Haven't looked back, and it's a GREAT way to "keep it local".
