For all my life I have needed wide shoes.

For the last 10 years or so I have been able to wear New Balance size 13 EEEE. And pay usually under $75.

But now New Balance has changed where they manufacture their shoes and EEEE is no longer comfortable.

I don't want old men shoes with Velcro. I would like something in white with some design.

I have searched the web only to find old men orthopedic shoes for $100+ in 5E or 6E widths.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

One of my 10^3 pet peeves. I take a size 14 EE and it has been harder and harder to find them, or they charge more above size 12. I have noticed manufacturers have been dropping the "fringe" wearers over the years. Not just shoes but in clothing also. More and more they are dealing with the mainstream user to save bucks. My wife has the same problem at the other end of the scale. She takes a size 5 shoe and we cannot find them either. Most shoe catalogs start at size 6. We have solved that problem somewhat by buying girls shoes but it is hard to find adult styles. We deal mainly with the shoe dealers out of Wissota, MN (there seems to be thousands of them) but it is still difficult. We have given up trying to find shoes and clothing in the local stores. Another problem is they are almost all made in China and are undersized. I also wear high-rise pants. Try and find high-rise pants anywhere. You get a 1000 yard stare. :x Perhaps Nick has the right idea. :)

Beware Nick, Some day you'll be there if you live long enough. :) Lots of other
fun things await too, but I don't want to spoil the surprise!

I wear a 16EEE and i have to special order my shoes from the big and tall store locally. I buy three pairs at a time because of all the hassle. They're expensive but dont have a choice in the matter so understand what your going through.

maybe you need the 6E

http://www.newbalance.com/men/shoes/100 ... rt=0&sz=24

I too hate the shoe shrinkage, used to wear a 13D shoe, now I have to get a wide. New Balance has been notorius for shoe widths that are not true to size.

Always surgery,

I have size 13 very wide feet. My biggest hassle was wearing shoes that came with rented tuxedo's
Hard plastic and very thin!!
While fitting tux's and shoes for my youngest daughters wedding, I finally squeezed into a size 16, the only pair they had. They delivered the tuxedo's and shoes to the church on wedding day and my shoes were a size 11 and no way or time to change this!!! I did not have tears of joy, they were tears from the pain of my toes being curled up in those shoes.
By the time I finished the first dance with my daughter, I was going to change into my good shoes, but my feet had swollen so bad that I could not get the shoes off until I went to my car and cut them off with a side cutters!!!
When I returned the monkey suit and shoes to the rental place, I let them know I was slightly upset and if they charge me for the damaged shoes, I will put pictures of my feet once the shoes were off in the front page of the paper!!! They refunded my total cost for the rental!!

Some funny comments. :) But you guys are in for a big surprise. There are three parts of your body that do not stop growing and your feet are one of them. You will add about 1/2 size per decade. So if you are a size 12 now at 30ish you will be wearing 14s before you retire. And wider as gravity takes over. Too bad I won't be around to send you a picture of BigFoot. :D

I got lucky.

Found a pair of Nike 13 EEEE at Kohls for $42. Was surprised because Nike usually runs small.

Must have been mismarked but they fit.

A 13 EEEE New Balance did not fit.

Am good for another year.

I wear out a pair of shoes, in about 6 months. Soles usually worn to nothing. I walk a lot.

Btw: Small feet. Only size 9, and been that way for close to 40 years.
