I have a recent version of Adobe reader. I use to be able to "cut" a portion of a schematic and save that as a JPG. Now I cannot, or am I losing my mind?

I use the Windows "Snip" tool for doing that. I never thought any version of Adobe PDF Reader could cut and save as a JPG.

You can highlight a section of the schematic in acrobat, use the Copy function, and paste it into windows paint and save as a jpg. Or an MS Word doc. That's how I save sections. I like word because I can enlarge the schematics just by dragging on the edge of the copied section. It allows me to copy half of a schematic to one page, the other half to another, and then enlarge both sections so I end up with 2 full pages for the schematic.

I think the snipping tool is only available for Windows 7?

If the PDF is protected it will disable the Snapshot tool. You can enlarge whatever part of the schematic you want and hit Alt-Print Screen, then Paste it into any graphics program such as Paint or Photoshop.
