With their photon torpedoes exhausted and phasers inoperable, the Enterprise and its crew were desperate! Against ALL Federation Geneva Regulations, and in conflict with Primary Directive Sub-Paragraph .082467, Kirk ordered Chekov, Bones, and Uhura to accompany him and broadcast their live performance of “Mr. Tambourine Man” on all frequencies. (The Romulan Warship self-destructed soon thereafter!)

Kirk: Navigator, what key are we in?
Chekov: The readings are off the scale Kiptin.
Uhura: Sounds like L to me.

HA! I'm a big fan of the orginal Star Trek series also. I record it every Saturday night off of ME TV.
How about the time Spock and Kirk go down to the Earth back in the 30's or 40's and Spock builds a communications device out of tubes and radio parts.

"City on the Edge of Forever". Probably the best episode ever.

Ellison wrote an original treatment that didn't exactly fit the constraints of episodic TV. Story goes he was none too happy having his work tinkered, but then story goes he was contentious about a great many things.

That's a cool pic -- with a nice big Marshall stack and a funky lookin' Japanese guitar. I missed that episode....
