Last night on about 3715 khz I heard 2 ham radio operators speaking in German. I was wondering if the 80m band occasionally opens up to Europe or is it more likely I was listening to a pair of U.S. hams talking in German. I didn't stay tuned long enough to hear them ID. Although if they didn't ID in English I might have missed it when they did.

Wow, shortwave bands were shut down during a short listening session this afternoon. From 9.4-18 mhz I heard 3 stations total. 2 were just above noise level and 1 was a little better but still noisy.

Mystery solved on the German speaking guys on 80m. I heard one of them mention the name of a city about 10 miles west of me. At least one of the two guys is local.

You guys might check 7470 khz AM for a west coast religious pirate , call letters WHWH (Yahweh)
Reports are beginning from 00230z to 330z nightly. I heard the carrier about 0340z tonight but as in the past , audio just doesn't make it here. His bumper music seems to be a topic of discussion. The Feds caught up and processed him before , so time is of the essence for this log 8)

I tuned in just now at 9:55pm CST and hear it on 6880. OK copy. S5 noise level tonight and the signal is fading between S5-S7. Uh, it just stopped at 10pm. Oh well, I was late to the party.

I heard that too last night at 6880. Poor signal, fading.

I also heard a usual subject pirate, USB, at ~6950 (I forget the exact channel),
with numerous SSTV pictures, some excellent quality. Well, actually I only recorded it
and looked at the pictures.

Last night 5/24/18 UT around 330z , happened to be checking 15000 KHz and heard WWVH female voice not often heard here about the same strength. There seemed to be a third signal, with voice although broken and unintelligible audio and mostly at imaginary levels or maybe a harmonic. All signals faded completely by 4z

BPM?? I had a QSL from them back in the 80's-the time is right...though Asia Pacific shortwave paths tend to be more prevalent between 1000 and 1200 UTC in North America.

I heard that jumbled mess too. I didn't listen long because they were hardly moving the s-meter.

Early afternoon CST. There must be a CW contest going on. 15 and 20 meter bands were crowded down at the bottom. I counted roughly 65-70 signals onscreen on 20m and 25 signals on 15m using my SDR radio.

6880 kHz AM 5/27/18 UT
The Relay Station
I did not tune in until 253z but had been on for some time.
Numerous SSTVs , although props were not the best tonight , I got this one of a 1950/60s family relaxing on an airliner while the boy points out a mushroom cloud .
At 305z GroBes Rundfunkorchester/ nationalalthymne der Ddr was played and then off

S5 noise and storm static.

I saw the 6880 station but it was too weak to even bother recording.

There was another one that had lots of SSTV pictures but with variable S/N.

WARNING! POLITICAL CONTENT!

Last night's SSTVs sure show the politics of this pirate.
4 as-received pictures in one

There was Radio Free Whatever this evening on 6950, no SSTV. Then there was
another one on 6955, with two SSTV's, one extremely cringeworthy.

Wow , I heard RFW as well , the DJ is well loved by many. I got a shoutout!
Looking at your grouping of 4 , I just realized the III in the flag is 3% (id)
Skippy Radio ! (id) although other stations have sent out the Skippy logo probably the real skippy,

I think that the "damnation" SSTV may explain a problem I had: one of those
frequencies for a while sounded like two stations on slightly (~100 Hz) different frequencies.

It averaged a noisy S-5 but I listened to it for quite a while. Yes, it was good quality audio.
