Nothing like putting up my Christmas tree with my wife listening to Christmas songs on my Dynaco ST-70 through a pair of Klipsch Heresy's speakers and a glass of wine... pure bliss...

Yes you can, my tree is at the beginning stages so my picture will have to wait until tomorrow. Please post your tree.

We've been picking up specific ornaments for years Quite a few represent significant people & pets.
Hit the button and its multi, tap again and its clear, love LED's. And then Jack Russell proofed (x2)

Putting up the tree is a lot of fun. We pull it out of storage and adjust the branches the first night. Then we pick a weekend night to put the ornaments on. There is usually a good Christmas movie on like Miracle on 34th Street or White Christmas. I tried to convince my wife that Die Hard was a good Christmas movie, but it didn't work

The cats worship the tree and love sitting under it. The cheap ornaments are on the bottom, so nothing to worry about if one is taken out.

Sal, please explain how you pump the music through that glass of wine and let us know in today's audiospeak how the vintage affects the sound, e.g. contributes robust tannin overtones, etc.

Hey Sal,

At this end, mono only - a Stromberg Carlson AR-420 amp driving an AR-2a speaker. But the Christmas tunes sound great!

Merry Christmas to all the ARF folks.

I hear there's a "shortage" of live Christmas trees this year. A scraggly one I saw while driving was about 4 1/2 feet tall, and it was $49. Awful lot of money for something that's a pain to get rid of in a few weeks.

Until I moved out, this was the base of our tree:

At my place I need to use a stand. This is the 40th year for the same tree.
No Dynaco, no Klipsch, but a nice 70 watt combo amp which I built when I played in our company band, fed by an iPod full of old time radio and real Christmas music.

We've never had a problem getting a Christmas tree. We always drive around on the county roads a few days before Christmas 'til we find a good cedar tree in the ditch. This year my grandpa's got a good one that he has been saving for us at his place.

Good Luck,
Noah

My tree is planted in the ground out back. Leave the lights on year round and wait for snow to decorate it. When cut trees got past the $15.00 mark that ended it years ago. We use to get on our horse and go out in the back woods, cut and drag it back to the farmhouse.

Our cat of 17 years is happy to set calmly under the tree, even takes naps under it. I know exactly how he feels. :)

Since I'm the only one here.I put up a small tree in the front window which I relighted with LED bulbs 2 years ago.It takes 5 to 10 minutes to put up since I store it behind the lamp table next to the couch all ready decorated. The light are on a timer as they go on at dusk and off around 11pm.

I envy you Noah. My brother Bruce and I would jump in the back of Grandpa’s truck and head out to cut down a small tree. Sometimes it took him a while to find the one he wanted, but we didn’t care. Bruce and I would carry it in the front door and Grandpa would put it in his homemade wood stand and then we helped Grandma put on a couple of strings of lights. We got hot Chocolate for our hard work. Grandparents are the best ever.

Merry Christmas Everyone.
Freeman.

A glass of wine always makes something better, especially if you have more than one...

Our friends in Maine had a sunken living room with a vaulted ceiling, so they had 15' 6" for their tree.

What holds it up? A stamped metal tree stand which barely fits around the trunk, two small ropes, and luck. In order to get it into the house, he had to walk it up the stairs just to get it all in. I have a video, but it's 46 Megs long.

We were there only to help put it up, thank goodness. There were more needles dropped just from getting it put up than most trees drop during the whole season
