My first recollection of seeing a tombstone/cathedral radio. Mr. Wilson buys an old radio at a charity auction and Dennis finds wads of cash hidden inside. Anyone know what manufacturer/model this is?

Thanks! Here's another screenshot. This is the lady to whom the money belongs to - Grandma Walton!

Wasn't that Hal Smith (Otis Campbell) in the first picture?

Yep. He's listed in the end credits as the auctioneer.

There's a Highway Patrol episode called Lie Detector where an old woman keeps money in her radio in the motel office and darned if it doesn't look like the same radio. It's from January, 1956. The Dennis the Menace episode is from 1960. Could they be the same radio?

Screen Gems (Columbia Pictures} made Dennis The Menace, I believe Ziv productions made highway patrol. Did Ziv have access to Columbias' prop shop?

The only "special" items I've found in radios is mouse turds - one time the skull of a bird (I think), dead spider carcasses, dust etc..
Still looking for that wad of cash.

Wonder if grandma used the money in that radio to buy the radio that became her namesake for the family?

In the show, they describe the radio as a 1927, 10 tube, superhet set. Guess even back then they didn't know anything about the radios they were selling.

It was also an amazing radio. Dennis was able to listen to a radio station from Africa with crystal clear reception in the middle of the day!
