Are you going to the auction and preview on Sunday or the preview and BBQ reception on Saturday?

I note that the flyer mentions a "Tag Sale of Lower Valued Items (Before and after the main auction and at the previews)". I think I might check that out early Saturday afternoon, then maybe return for the BBQ reception. I certainly can't afford anything being auctioned on Sunday, so I'd probably skip that, but if there are ARFer's planning to be there on Sunday I'd come to visit.

Steve, I am probably in the same boat as far as being able to afford things...
My plan is to go a Saturday and Sunday, I didn't know about the tag sale. Your plan sounds good with the although on Sunday, even though prices may be well above my budget, I want to be there to see what things sell for.

After looking at the catalog I am truly amazed at the quality of the collection.

I'm old enough to be in the John Terry camp. Time to find new owners for old radios.

The auction and the Nearc meet are a bit further than I want to travel these Days. << HI, hi..

I would like to be around for the leftovers, or Junque boxes, but that's O.K. got enough junk to paw through for two life times...

Well all, have a good time, buy what makes you happy. Sell for a bargain to those budding collectors and give stuff away to the kids to get them interested, that is the true meaning of a radio collector, After all who will want our stuff when its time to let it go???

Bill, the Zenith loop I so desperately wanted?? The damn thing is too big to fit my cabinet :x Grateful to Kim Herron for wading me through the vetting process on the loop by phone and email.

Chas

I may stop by Sunday afternoon after the MIT Flea.

Did you visit john's open house after the last NEARC Westford show, back in January? It is indeed an amazing collection.

Good Morning All!!

Does anyone know if a final sale price will be published on this?? I can't get there, but I have saved all the pics from the catalog for future reference.
BTW, You're welcome Chaz. I learned as much about early Zenith radios as you did. Too bad you couldn't make it work. I put it on "that auction site". Too much stuff and not enough room. My extra room is all taken up with "tubes".

Since this was a Proxibid auction, you can always view the results online, providing that you follow this link:

https://www.proxibid.com/asp/CatalogPri ... aid=116601

From my limited knowledge of early sets, it looks like many of these sets commanded at or above market value. I quickly totaled up the lot sale prices and came up with $184,935! Good for John.
