The deadline for preregistration is fast approaching.

If you have not yet sent in your registration form, best to do it in the next week.

Everything points to a strong show again this year.

Info is at http://www.antique-radios.org/radiofest_2017_info.html

I was just told we only have approx 50 selling spaces left.

We do have plenty of room at the banquet.

As many of you know, these facility is far better than standard hotel fare.

Do not miss out on this exceptional event.

Just wondering, is there a entry fee for the general public to attend this event? Thanks.

Do you know if there are any swap spots still available?

Thanks

Is the auction big? Are there boxes of radio parts and tubes for bidding by the lot, usually?
I like going to those, but I don't know if its worth the 6 hour drive since I can only find pictures of past swap meets in the parking lot.

You know it's funny, I've been going for years and I can't recall ever bothering to take a photo of the auction. And unfortunately the club didn't post any auction photos since 2013. (http://www.antique-radios.org/aug_2013.html) I suppose that's something to consider for this year.

The auction is one of the biggest in the hobby. Last year the club had over 260 lots consigned, selling in excess of $30K. That's a lot of radios for one night! Thankfully the auction is very well organized and moves at a fast pace.

The contents of the auction is mostly radios, as well as some stereo gear and test equipment. Every year there's usually some flats of boxed tubes for auction. I can't specifically recall boxes of parts for sale, most of that stuff is left for the swap meet or donation auction.

It's definitely worth the trip, and while you're there, stay the night and enjoy the Saturday swap!

I think I'll try to hit this one. Thanks for the info! Much appreciated!
Maybe the club can put up this kind of info and more pictures to draw people? (Of, course, it may be as big and as busy as they want it to be right now.)

Our club photographer has not been able to make the auction the past few years. Our remiss in not making sure pictures get taken.

While we never know what will show up, we have heard this year will be bigger and better than last year.

With the $25 minimum bid on items, we do not get parts into the auction.

We still have swap spots available although things are getting tighter.

Give the club a call at 630.739.1060 and we can see what we can do to accommodate you.

Here's a slideshow of last years auction. Lots of high quality items there as there usually is at Radiofest auctions. I also included photos of the hotel lobby. I thought it was a very comfortable and nice hotel. Buffet breakfast for $12 to start your day.

It sure is! Bidder cards are $5 for non-members. More info on the auction is in the brochure here:

Anyone who still needs a reservation can call the hotel directly at 630-691-0500 and dial "0" to be connected to the front desk.

They are only able to honor the Radiofest rate on the hotel level at this time, so if someone speaks to Central Reservations they will advise them the rate is not available.

The auction is going to be exciting. We already have committed:

Breting-12, Federal-57, Federal-141 and a Hallicrafters SX-88

Wow!

Hmm, so there will not be any flea market sales on Friday at all?

The Auction is Friday evening and flea market starts Saturday morning?

Just wanted to make sure so I don't arrive Friday morning and find an empty lot.

Yes, that's the way it's been for at least the past 10 years.

Is the "no sales before 7am Saturday" rule enforced or does the flea market actually get going earlier?

We ask that people follow the rule but there are those who do not.

With an open parking lot, difficult to enforce a fixed start.

And yes, no flea on Friday.
